Queen Village and Bella Vista

Just South of Society Hill, you’ll find these lovely neighborhoods, home to many early 19th Century “trinities” (fathers, sons and holy ghosts–or one room on each floor with traditionally the kitchen housed in the basement) or observe many larger, modern rowhomes. Dine and shop at the newly renowned Italian Market area, known for the dueling cheesesteak stops, Geno’s and Pat’s, as well as some of the freshest and affordable local produce, meats and seafood. Enjoy the people watching along famous South Street or catch an act at the Theatre of Living Arts (The “TLA”) and some fantastic pizza at DeLorenzo’s! Or shop at antique stores and second-hand stores on Sixth Street and unique collection of South Street stores. Seamstresses, take delight: this area houses Philadelphia’s famous “Fabric Row” on South Fourth Street. Restaurants to hit include Southwark, Supper and the creperie at Beau Monde, where you can finish dinner and stroll upstairs to our favorite place to dance South of Northern Liberties, L’Etage! We’re big fans of Urban Jungle, an urban gardening store for city dwellers.
