Art Museum/ Fairmount
Adjacent to Fairmount Park, the nation’s largest and oldest municipality-operated park, as well as picturesque Kelly and West River Drives where many Philadelphians go to run, bike, and walk their dogs. Watch crew teams on the Schuylkill River along the famous Boathouse Row, or enjoy visiting the Philadelphia Museum of Art, which houses one of America’s great collections of art…and if you visit, be sure to run up the Art Museum steps like the droves of other people you’ll see! It’s also home to the Eastern State Penitentiary, which along with Singh-Singh, formed the basis of the American prison system. Although it’s no longer in use as a prison, it serves as a wonderful museum and is currently in the process of being carefully preserved and in some cases, restored. Nightspots to hit include Bishop’s Collar, Rembrandt’s and the London Grill. Brunch at Sabrina’s is not to be missed!
